Our Corbels are inspired by Historical and Classical as well as contemporary design. The classical corner corbels of ancient Greece were adorned with plant leaves or clusters of Grapes, or Flowers. The Corbels are available in many different sizes to fit the need for any specific purpose. We hand carve them in Maple, Oak and Cherry.. Hand Carving is far superior to the Machine Carved products which lack the fine detail that only hand carved Corbels can offer.
Even though they are hand carved they are the same size and identical in detail .When carved by hand the individual skill and attention of the craftsman is evidenced in each piece of corbel that is created. The popularity of Hardwoods in the carving process gives the carver the ability to sculpt fine details into the corbel that are not available in using soft woods like pine or other species of soft woods. The crisp detail of a hardwood Corbel is made that much more apparent in the creation of a Corbel carved in Hardwood such as Maple, Oak and Cherry.
