How To Install Fireplace Mantles

When installing wood carved fireplace mantels, a minimum of assembly is needed to attach the two legs to the body utilizing pre-drilled holes and hardware, which is included.

We take great care in packing our mantles in crates to insure damage free arrival. When unpacking the crate take care not to damage the parts.

When setting the mantle be certain to check that it will have the same amount of  marble or stone  on either side of the "legs".

Mount 1 x 4 inch furring strips to the wall so that you will have a solid surface to mount your mantle with small finishing nails. We recommend that you pre-drill the holes before nailing to prevent any splitting.

Use a carpenters level to make certain the shelf is level before nailing.

Use wood putty to cover all nail holes and hand sand after it has set.

Before staining we recommend that you stain an inconspicuous are (the back) to see if that is the finish you are expecting.
