How To Install Onlays

Onlays and architectural details can turn an ordinary surface into an extraordinary one in moments.
 
All our Onlays and Architectural details have flat surfaces so that with a little bit of care they install in a moment.
 
Before you actually install the Onlay we recommend that you first position it on the surface that you want to apply this to using some clear tape, so that you can see the results immediately.

Now you are ready to install. Using a little dab of white glue, set it in place and then using 6d finishing nails attach it to the surface of your project. Be sure to pre-drill the holes to insure the wood doesn't split.
 
Use a nail set to drive the nail heads below the surface and use putty to fill the holes.
 
Using a small piece of sand paper, sand the putty holes smooth and then finish.
 
You might want to finish before installation if you are adding this to an existing finished surface.
