At Master Wood Carvers we specialize in carved wood corbels. A few things to know and understand before buying corbels are the following:
1. Think about the room you're wanting to add your new corbels to. Could your room use a more simple corbel style or a more elegant and complex corbel style? We carry many different styles of corbels like mission corbels, which are more simple in design and character. We also have floral, grape and acanthus corbels which can consist of a more complex style with a lot of detail.
2. While browsing our site for the perfect corbel, think about the sizing and texture of corbel you're wanting. We can custom carve any corbel to fit your needs. Even if you already have a picture of a corbel from an existing building, you can send that to our carvers and we will mimic that design and level of detail as close as possible.
3. To get an idea of what you're looking for, you can browse our corbels section or look for pictures of buildings and historic churches or government buildings to get ideas.
4. Think about what you're using the corbel for exactly. Is is being used for support of a beam or roof? Or is it merely being used to add elegance to your home or building? The more sturdy your corbel the better it is going to be for support beams and such. Be sure to keep that in mind before you purchase. e
5. Once you have purchased your cobels, think about how to install them. Will you need to hire extra help to install your corbels if they're to go in high areas or if they are particularly heavy? We have an installation guide that can help for hanging lighter weight corbels.
We can carve anything you need from a pair of 8 foot giraffes to a 6 ft custom cross for a church to home architectural details like corbels, newels, balusters and more. Just contact us today for a no obligation custom carving quote.
